Our group’s topic is equal rights for same-sex couples in the United States. We are interested in promoting benefits to gay and lesbian couples and allowing these unions across the nation. It is a current topic with a lot of heated debate. States such as Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont, Maine, Maryland, Washington and the District of Columbia all recognize and allow same-sex marriages. We believe that this is a current pressing issue in the news, and should be legalized in all other states. This issue deserves attention because we believe in the importance of giving equal rights to all people.
